Dear Future President of the United States, Health Care
What are you going to do to help make health care better for everyone? Why does the wealthiest country have a difficult time taking care of their citizens? Why are we still relying on inflated prices for those on Medicare and Medicaid to help offset the costs of health care for those that do not have insurance? Why are our poor without Medicaid? Why are there waiting lists to get assistance for those in need?
When what is offered to us through our employer is too expensive, or because it is not offered, or because they do not have a job, many Americans do not get the health care they should be getting. Even those that have insurance, and pay their monthly premiums, hope they do not get ill because they can't afford the deductibles, let alone the copays.
When someone with a health issue, that does not have insurance, finally gets help, it is when they can no longer stand the pain and that usually means it has gone out of control. Now it is an emergency, and/or the quality of life has diminished, it's going to cost us more in the long run. What happened to preventing problems instead of waiting until it becomes a major problem? I know people that could have been seen sooner and possibly could have gone back to work instead of deteriorating and staying on assistance.
There are many American's on Medicare. There are many on Medicaid, or some other type of free medical service. We need to bring the inflated costs down, get everyone that has income qualifying under the federal guidelines for their size family free healthcare, or monthly payments that would be 20% of their income, and start taking care of our families.
I am learning much more and it scares me. I don't know how some of the elderly get by. O.K. we pay taxes so that in the end (retirement) we will be taken care of with medicare and social security payments. How many americans have not had/do not have a good enough job to put away for a secure retirement that would offset the cost of the medicare part B or have extra health insurance to cover what isn't covered by part B? Can someone lead me to the graphs before I find the numbers and get back on here with findings?
I don't usually pay attention to political news, so excuse me if I am confused, Enlighten Me!!!!!!!!
